Telemachus and Calypso
Exquisite detail from the copper plate method of printing, in red on linen, Produced in Nantes, circa 1790. Prior to being printed on fabric, this image was painted by Jean Raoux in 1722 and then engraved by J. F. Beauvarlet in 1773.
Rare, Very Good Condition with light water stains and some small tears.
The bolt consists of 9, 3-1/2 yard lengths, 31 in. wide, and sewn together, for a total of approx. 31 4/8 yds.
The lengths do not match where joined.
