A.L. Diament & Co.
A.L. Diament & Co. was established in 1885 by Albert L. Diament in Philadelphia. The company quickly became the area's premier decorating firm and the country's leading importer of fine furnishings, providing America's best and most prestigious decorators with the finest Europe had to offer through its showrooms in Philadelphia and New York.
Diament's ties to France were personal and passionate. The company was the sole exclusive agent for the great early manufacturers of France such as Desfosse, Dumas and Zuber, and the company's ancient archive contains extraordinary examples of textiles and wallpapers spanning four generations and documenting nearly two centuries of decorative arts. Included in the archive is a fine collection of rare and important scenic wallpapers, many in mint, unhung condition as they were acquired from the French manufacturers.
Surviving two World Wars and the Great Depression to the present, A.L. Diament & Co. maintains the principle of no compromise with quality while providing the best to those who appreciate the finest in wallpapers.
